It's Perth! - Day 3 (Part 1)

Jom sambung untuk Day 3 lak....ramai yang suruh sambung cepat2 especially si Biqque & Chawanna....depa nak fly ke New Zealand lak next week...awesome!

Since entry dan gambar untuk Day 3 ni agak banyak dan panjang. So, aku split kepada 2 bahagian. Senang skit, takdela slow untuk loading pictures nanti...let's!

Augusta - Busselton - Lake Clifton

Arini dah set awal-awal nak bangun awal sebab nak taknak buang masa. Bangun pukul 5.30 pagi. Siap-siap sume, then breakfast nasik semalam dengan sardine ade lagi. No problem..janji alas perut.

Dah pakat dengan kawan, yang arini we all nak pakai baju raya. Secara kebetulan sume pakai kaler yang sama! Hahaha…..best giler. Amek the best shots kat area Clovelly Holiday Unit dulu. Lepas tu, hujan lak turun renyai-renyai…adoyai…harap-harap tempat lain tak hujan. Nasib baik dah cover light house petang semalam. Dah save masa kat situ plus dapat save duit entrance fee semalam. Hihihi….

Lebih kurang pukul 7 pagi, kami mulakan perjalanan. Matahari dah mula nampakkan sinarnya….1st stop arini ialah Margaret River Chocolate Factory yang terletak kira-kira sejam perjalanan. Memang sengaja bawak kete slow-slow sebab nak kill masa dulu. Tapi apakan daya, bila sampai tu factory tu still tutup. Operation hour is from 9am – 5pm. Hurm….takpelah. kalo tak dapat masuk kat sini, kat Perth City ade lagi 1 cawangan. Oleh itu….teruskan lagi perjalanan. We need to speed up.

By the way, untuk kat Margaret River Town..korang leh baca entry dari Cik Mas Zuber

Sekitar Margaret River Town

2nd destination ialah Busselton Jetty. Tak jauh pun dari Margaret River ni. Lebih kurang pukul 8.30 pagi, kami dah sampai. Time ni laaa nak amek gambar salam perantauan…perghh…banyak shoots yang menjadi. Thanks to cahaya matahari yang menyinar. Happy! Time ni tak ramai sangat….jalan-jalan atas jetty sampai ke hentian tram yang kat tengah tu. Tak larat laa weh nak sampai hujung tu. Korang tau tak brape panjang jetty tu? 1.8km tauuuu….manelaaa nak larat nak jalan. Janji sampai situ jugak. Nampak a few citizen yang duk jogging pagi. Best sugguh kalo dapat layan perasaan kat sini. Bila dah puas jalan-jalan kat atas jetty, kami pusing balik ke tempat asal. Nampak lak ade pagar yang tutup. Rupanya…dikenakan bayaran untuk jalan-jalan atas jetty tu. AUD2.50/pax. Hahah….rezeki kami lagi since datang awal, so tak kene bayar. Alhamdulillah…. Masuk souvenir shop dan beli 1 keping fridge magnet. Okla tu..buat ubat.

Sedikit info pasal Busselton Jetty, aku copy paste je tau dari entry Cik Mas Zuber punye entry

Busselton Jetty is the longest wooden jetty (pier) in the southern hemisphere, stretching almost 2 km out to sea from the town of Busselton, Western Australia. Because the shallow waters of Geographe Bay restricted ship movement, a long jetty was required so that the cut timber could be transported to the ships. In 1839 Governor Hutt appointed "the place in Geographe Bay opposite the Settlement at The Vasse to be the legal place for the loading and unloading of goods". Construction of the jetty commenced in 1853 after persistent pressure by settlers. In 1865 the first section of the jetty became available for ships to moor. In 1875 an additional 131 metres was added to the original structure, as over 10 years' accumulation of drift sands had made the water too shallow for mooring. The jetty was continually extended until the 1960s when it reached its current length of 1841 metres.

The jetty also features a rail line along its length, which operated commercially as part of the railway line into Busselton from Bunbury. The last commercial ship visited the jetty on 17 October 1971. On 21 July 1972, the jetty was closed to shipping by Governor's Proclamation in the WA Gazette after more than a century of use. Once closed, government maintenance of the jetty ceased and it began to deteriorate, suffering attack by wood borers, rot and the occasional fire. On 4 April 1978, Cyclone Alby swept south down the Western Australian coast from the North-West (a rare occurrence) and destroyed a large part of the shore end of the jetty. Subsequently, towns people banded together to try to save the jetty and eventually persuaded the State Government and the Shire Council to provide some much needed funds for repair.

However, rebuilding the timber jetty proved expensive and funds soon ran out. The Jetty Preservation Society, formed in 1987, resorted to community fund-raising. Over the past 15 years, in excess of AUD $9 million has been committed to jetty restoration and development projects. A small tourist train operated following repairs in the 1980s and 1990s, but ceased in early 2005 due to concerns over the jetty's aging structure.

Alhamdulillah....jetty ni dah dibuka semula selepas di refurbish. Pasni, orang ramai boleh laaa mai sini ok!

Lama jugak kami lepak kat situ. Dalam lebih kurang pukul 9.40 pagi baru gerak semula. On the way tu, nak pegi ke Lake Clifton sebab nak tengok trombolites ataupun living rocks dan sampai kat sana lebih kurang pukul 11 pagi dah. Tapi tak berapa nak nampak sangat batu hidup tu sebab air pasang.

Till then..gudnite!
